# It took me months to set up my agents. You can start in a minute.

Grok Bot now comes with one subscription. Here is why I think it is the easiest way into AI agents.

Eight months ago a friend showed me an AI agent, and today my business runs on a fleet of them. Getting there was not easy.

## What it took me

First your agents need a computer to live on. You either buy one or rent a VPS or a virtual machine and pay for it every month. Then you set it all up yourself.

Then comes the terminal. If you have never seen one, it is a black screen where you type commands, and nothing happens unless you know exactly what to type. Just installing an agent there is a project of its own.

Then you want to talk to your agent from your phone, so you connect it to Telegram. It works for a day and then it drops. You fix it, and something else breaks.

Then you want several agents working together in one group chat. Now it is permissions, tokens, settings and a million clicks for every new bot.

I went through all of it because I could not stop. Most people would quit on day one, and I understand them.

## What it takes now

On October 13 X bundled X Premium, Grok and Cursor into one subscription, and Grok Bot comes with it. I used to pay for Grok and Cursor separately and never wanted to pay for X at all. Now it is one plan.

You open the app and create a bot. It takes about a minute. No server, no terminal, no Telegram setup. Making a new bot and adding it to a group chat is a couple of taps.

Each bot gets its own computer in the cloud and keeps working after you close the app. Bots message each other, share context and split the work in a group chat. They come back to you only when a decision needs a human.

That computer is a virtual machine on their side, and it comes with the subscription. You do not buy hardware and you do not pay for a server. For a beginner that alone saves a lot of money.

## The part I envy

My own agents run on Codex, Claude Code and Hermes. In all of them, giving an agent a browser was the hardest problem. Logins expire, sites block servers, and someone always wants to paste a password into the chat.

Grok Bot does this out of the box. Each bot has a real browser. You sign in once and the session stays. When a site asks for a password, a code or a CAPTCHA, you take over the screen for that one step, and the secret never enters the chat. If a site blocks cloud addresses, you route the traffic through your own desktop. You can even show a bot a task in the browser once, and it turns that into a skill.

Grok was also where I first saw this way of handling secrets, and it gave me the idea for my own vault. Mine goes one step further: you can send a photo of a password, not only text.

## Not locked to one model

On October 7 Musk said Grok Bot picks the best model for each task, including Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5. Higgsfield video runs inside it too, so you can ask a bot for a clip in the same chat where it does everything else.

One thing to know before you start: all your bots share one computer, one browser and the same logins. They are a team, not separate safes. Give them access with that in mind.

## Bigger than a feature

X just gave people a reason to pay that has nothing to do with posting. You come for the agents and get the blue check and no ads on the side. I think a lot of people will end up on X this way.

When someone asks me how to get started with AI agents, my answer is now one line: install Grok Bot. No servers to rent, no virtual machines to pay for, no setup to learn. You can always go deeper later. I did.

The gap between people who use agents and everyone else keeps growing. For eight months crossing it took real work. Now it takes one subscription and a minute.
